2nd Grade
In the “Creative Engineers” program, students discover objects from their everyday world that contain simple machines. The constructions are more complex than last year, as their fine motor skills are improved. Gradually, an electric motor is added, so that the students understand the evolution of technology.
Then, they program on tablets to set their constructions in motion, creating their first automations. They use sensors to interact between the virtual and the real world, moving their constructions remotely.
At the same time, they get an experiential understanding of science concepts and understand how these affect the operation of their constructions.

Objectives of the program

By the end of the program, students will be able to:

  1. Recognize the simple machines in everyday objects,
  2. Do their own constructions, that can move due one or more simple machines,
  3. Investigate the factors that affect the operation of a mechanism,
  4. Understand the basic principles of programming and create simple programs,
  5. Work in groups and cultivate creativity, collaboration, communication and creative thinking skills.
