OPEN Elementary Category: “From Human to Artificial Intelligence” | Grades 1–4
Since the dawn of civilization, humans have been compelled to use their minds in order to survive and later to improve their quality of life. Even today, consider what is necessary for us to live!
Initially, humans became farmers, shepherds, and fishermen, developing primary production to establish a permanent home with a stable food supply. Soon, energy sources became essential—for cooking and preserving food. Increasingly advanced mechanical and electrical devices made the entire process easier and more reliable.
Yet, the restless and curious human spirit was not satisfied with the security of a permanent home. People wanted to explore the world and trade products with distant regions. They developed systems of imports and exports, transporting goods and people. Here, energy again played a central role, making travel safer, more efficient, and environmentally friendly.
All of these shaped the culture of each region and era, forming individual and collective identity. Culture was proudly carried by those who migrated in search of a better life, or passed from one generation to the next. Art, in all its forms—painting, sculpture, music, dance, photography, video, etc.—helped convey messages and preserve identity across time and space.
For this category, create a scenario proposing an original solution to a problem humans have faced. Illustrate it by building mechanisms and an automation, and then share your story with us!
