Automation Engineering

Engineering & Coding

In the “Automation Engineers” program, students create their own automations, more complex than in the previous year, and are introduced to Physical Computing applications!

Students work together to solve real-world problems, starting from managing the motion of the construction, firstly through a switch, and then through sensors and programming. In addition, they develop their own constructions and learn how to present their results to their peers!

Human sensory organs are replaced by electronic sensors, action takes place using electric motors and students program micro-processors for the first time. They collect data, through measurements of temperature, brightness, sound volume, etc.

The automations are harmoniously integrated into the students’ constructions. Students learn how to plan, design, build, test, rebuild and re-test, to solve a real world problem.

Students discover the world of measurements (MicrobiT) and the exciting journey to automations continues!

Objectives of the program

By the end of the program, students will be able to:

  1. Create their own automations and physical computing applications,
  2. Perform measurements of physical quantities, using a micro-controller and sensors,
  3. Illustrate their data in a cartesian coordinate system to analyze them,
  4. Built models to solve real world challenges,
  5. Work in groups to improve and present their constructions.
